Bianca H. Dang (she/her)

Bianca H. Dang is the Chief Research Associate of the Neuroimaging, Neuropsych, and Neuromodulation (N3) Lab in the Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences. She joined the N3 Lab in 2017 while earning her B.S. in Biology and minoring in Evolutionary Medicine at UCLA, class of 2020. At UCLA, she was involved in the 2017 Vietnamese Cultural Night's (theater group), Vietnamese Community Health, the UCLA BruRunner's (Run Club), UCLA Club Track, (Distance team), Foundation Choreography, Film and Photography Society (FPS), FAST, and Photography Clubs.

Catherine Tran (she/her)

Catherine is from Orange County, CA, and graduated from UCLA in 2021 with a B.S. in Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology (MCDB). She is currently a Clinical Data Research Coordinator for the Gastroenterology and Women's Health Departments at Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach, and is also deciding on a master's program focused on biomedical sciences. Her past involvements at UCLA include Vietnamese Community Health (VCH), High School Conference, Anh Chi Em, Vietnamese Culture Night, Vietnamese Medical Terminology Student Instructor, Pasarow Mass Spectrometry Lab, and Staba Neurology Lab.

Joe Kim (he/him)

Joe graduated from UCLA in 1997 with a degree in East Asian Studies. He currently works as a business performance advisor with Insperity. He is also UCLA’s APA board member and UCLA Bruin Professionals board member. Joe lived in Kabul, Afghanistan in 2006 working for a non-profit helping women and children combat malnutrition. He played football in college and enjoys backpacking and camping.

Leana Serey Taing (she/her)

Leana S. Taing is the first in her family to go to law school and become an attorney. Her family fled the Cambodian genocide and their experiences compelled her to become a public interest attorney and dedicate herself to public service. As a part of her legal journey, Taing assisted the Office of the Co-Prosecutor in the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC) to prosecute Khmer Rouge leaders for crimes against humanity and genocide. She interned for the United Nations in Phnom Penh, Cambodia as a part of the international team and was the only international member with Cambodian heritage.

Lianna Kishi (she/her)

Lianna Kishi graduated from UCLA in 2020 with a B.S. degree in Cognitive Science and a Specialization in Computing. When she was a student at UCLA, she was involved in research in the education and learning spaces, as well as SEA Admit and the Vietnamese Student Union. Lianna currently works as a UX Designer for an edtech company called Amplify. In this role, she works with product managers, engineers, and researchers to create digital products for K-12 teachers and students. Prior to this, she was a UX Designer at a corporate catering delivery company. UX Design involves understanding user needs through research to create inclusive and impactful products. Lianna loves to help others who are trying to break into the UX or tech fields and currently serves as a UX mentor for Bruin Synaptogenesis.

Michelle Nguyen (she/her)

Michelle graduated with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering in 2021 from UCLA. While at UCLA, she did research with the Earth, Planetary, and Space Sciences Department through a work-study position and with ELFIN, a student built and operated satellite program. She also spent time participating in IEEE, IEEE WATT, High School Conference, Vietnamese Culture Night, and SEA Admit, where she has been a coordinator, facilitator, and admit. After graduating, Michelle began working as an electrical engineer at Essentium, an industrial 3D printer manufacturer.

Sally Lew (she/her)

Sally graduated in 1970 with major in English. She is currently the Principal Consultant at EASTWIND Consulting which is a philanthropic consulting firm. Formerly, she was involved with school reform movement (LAUSD, independent schools and institutional settings) and served on UCLA Alumni Association Board of Directors (6 years). Sally currently serves on Asian Pacific Alumni (APA) of UCLA and Gold Shield Alumnae of UCLA Board of Directors; YMCA of Greater Long Beach Board of Managers and East West Players Advisory Council. Sally focuses and works on social justice issues and equity/diversity/inclusion efforts.

Sherwin Goo (he/him)

Sherwin Goo graduated from UCLA in 1987 with a bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering and a master's degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Michigan in 1988. Sherwin has worked at Jet Propulsion Laboratory/NASA for many years working on mission operations for such projects as Cassini which was the first spacecraft to orbit Saturn, Juno which surveyed the planet Jupiter, the Curiosity MSL rover which is in its tenth year of exploring the surface of Mars and preparing Europa Clipper for its launch to explore this icy moon of Jupiter.

Thiri Shwe Cynn (she/her)

Thiri graduated in 2022 with a major in Economics and a minor in Film, TV and Digital Media. Thiri is currently working as a digital analyst in a media agency. Throughout her college career, she loved being a part of BURSA (Burmese Student Association) and connecting with other Burmese and Southeast Asian Bruins.

Victor Tran (he/him)

Victor Tran is a UCLA class of 2020 graduate with a BA in Sociology and Geography with a minor in Urban and Regional Studies. He is pursuing his Master of Urban and Regional Planning at the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs with a concentration in Community Economic Development and Housing. He is currently working as a Graduate Student Researcher at the UCLA Latino Policy and Politics Institute on gentrification and anti-displacement research projects and community surveys on economic opportunity, housing, and minority owned businesses to examine the impacts of COVID-19, assistance programs, and other sustainability measures.

Ashley Margono (she/her)

Ashley graduated with a B.S. in Biology in 2021. Recently, she switched my career path to working in Higher Education, so now she is working as an Enrollment Advisor at USC. Ashley offers a nice insight towards working both in the science field for a bit as well as the education field which definitely helps incoming students! She was previously involved in several health related clubs on campus like Pre-Optometry and Public Health. In her free time, she enjoys rock climbing, trying new workouts like Boxing, and going to the beach and skateboarding.
